About Jessica
Jessica is widely recognized as the pioneering inventor of the world’s most acclaimed “water bike” and one of the only transgender CEOs in the fitness and wellness industries.
In 2013, she became the first person to ever ride a bike across the waters of the SF Bay and Hudson River. Following these historic crossings, she has built a global brand spanning 100 countries, a new product category, a competitive sport, and mode of urban transportation on a blue planet. Prior to founding Schiller Bikes, Jessica was the co-Founder and CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi S, one of the first global consulting agencies focused on transforming corporate cultures at Fortune 500 companies for a sustainable future.
She now lives in Sausalito, California with her fiance, Elizabeth, and youngest child.
Jessica's Talks
Thriving Through Adversity
Change, challenge, and adversity are part of life. In our personal lives, at work, and even within our own hearts and minds, there will always be difficult circumstances that, more often than not, lead to negative perceptions, stress, decreased creativity and productivity.
All of these hinder an individual’s or a team’s ability to perform at a time when it is needed the most. In this talk I share real world stories, drawing on my vast experience navigating some of the most grueling, tragic, and complex types of challenges life has to offer, while inviting your audience to embrace new tools for thriving through adversity.
The World Needs Your Big Ideas
“Dumbest idea ever” is what one prominent investor said to me as I was trying to raise money for my fledgling water bike company that now has customers in over 100 countries.
In this riveting talk I uncover the power and potential of big ideas, how to unlock them and move past the many blocks and obstacles. And, why believing in them is so critical for humans, companies and the future of our society and planet.
Decoding gender for deeper empathy. Perspectives and insights from a transgender CEO.
We’ve all heard of the early ‘90s book (and saying) “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus”. Understanding and empathizing with the opposite gender is a vital part of healthy human relationships and high performing teams.
In this fun, laugh-out-loud talk (and workshop), I help audiences discover new ways of seeing and appreciating the nuances of gender, gender bias, and the incredible journey of transgendered people.
